What is the Work Quota Decree?
The Work Quota Decree is an annual measure by which the Italian government sets the maximum number of non-EU citizens who can enter Italy for work purposes. It includes quotas for both seasonal and non-seasonal subordinate work, as well as for certain conversions of existing permits.
Who can apply for a work permit?
Foreign nationals can apply if they:
Have a job offer from an Italian employer
Reside abroad and meet the requirements
Submit the application within the timeframe established by the decree
Which sectors are included?

What is the ‘click day’?
It’s the official day when online applications can be submitted. Applications are accepted in chronological order, so it’s essential to prepare everything well in advance.

Completed online application form
What happens after approval?
Once the application is approved, the worker receives the nulla osta (authorization) and can apply for a visa at the Italian consulate. After entering Italy, the worker must apply for a residence permit within 8 days.
